How To - 1950s Vintage Pin Curl Tutorial!

I have just uploaded a brand new video on to my YouTube!
My previous videos have been using bendy rollers to create my vintage pageboy hairstyle (click here to see that tutorial)

A look I achieved using pin curls!
However, with bendy rollers being uncomfortable to sleep in I decided to give pin curls a go again. I used to use pin curls, but I never had a very good technique and was lazy so only did a few around my head ;-)
Well now I have filmed you guys a 'how to' on setting my hair in pin curls. It does take a little longer in the evening than bendy rollers did, but I get much tighter curls and my hair does not pull at all!
I hope you enjoy the videos. Feel free to comment!
Mwah!

  1. Wonderful tutorial! I watch tons of pin curling videos and I learn something new from each one! Because my hair is super curly when wet I have to do pin curls on already dried and straight hair. So I just put the setting lotion on then curl, but I've never thought to try mousse + setting lotion on my hair. Definitely going to give that a go next time I pin curl! :)

    1. Thank you so so much lovely - I'm glad I have given you some inspiration to take away :-) I love using Mousse, it really holds the curl without making my hair frizzy xxx

  2. Ah thank you very much, how lovely your video is to watch! I follow you all on instagram and always looking for new ways and techniques to style my hair 40s /50s, also which products to use as I have gone through so many different variations of setting lotion, some great some not so great and set my hair like stone and even after a brush out it feels horrible! Will be sure to try this out using mousse! Never stop posting! Pave the way haha xx

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the video and have found it useful. Let me know how you get on with the mousse! I definitely get better hold with the mousse. I always ensure that my curls are covered when I am outside as well! :) xxx

  3. Hello!
I love your videos. I have a question I love your hair, that's how I want my hair to look like. I've tried hot rollers, pin curls, curling irons and wands. But I can't get the same look like you do with the bendy rollers. What brand and size of bendy rollers do you use?
